Finally after suffering without tickets on monday’s(thats the day that tickets are half rate in KUWAIT if u didn’t know obviously)for the past 3 weeks, i had booked tickets and well… off I went to see The Dark Knight this Monday evening at the METRO here in Kuwait along with my buddies, and I can tell you the film is not perfect… but it is one impressive movie nonetheless. I can safely bet that it is by far the best Sequel ever made.

If ever you wanted a movie to provide blockbuster entertainment this Nolan film dosen’t dissappoint. With little humor to break the tension, The Dark Knight is beyond dark. It’s as black and toxic -as the mind of the Joker. Crucial to the film’s success is Nolan’s decision to make “The Dark Knight” a laugh free zone. There are practically no light moments in this story, and what little uneasy humor exists comes courtesy of The Joker (the late Heath Ledger), who puts you on edge every time he enters a scene. Ledger’s take on the Joker is an extraordinary feat of acting. HEATH LEDGER DESERVES AN OSCAR NOMINATION FOR HIS PERFORMANCE AS THE JOKER… no… I’m not even kidding in the least. I was totally, 100% blown away like nothing I’ve ever seen in a comic based movie before. He is at all times completely believable, at all times relentlessly disturbing, at all times nightmarishly frightening and at all times THE JOKER. If at all Ledger gets a nomination at the Oscar’s(which he would) it will be truly based on his performance which deserves the honour and not due to sentiments…Yes, he was that good. I’m sorry to say this but truly Batman (Christian Bale) himself is made to feel like a secondary character such was the impact of the performance.

The script on the first place was fantastic. The story always moved forward, the dialogues were crisp and snappy and always character based. The characters were given the right space and used at the right places.  The cast was rock solid. Christian Bale, Maggie Gyllenhall, Michael Caine, Aaron Eckhart, Morgan Freeman,  Gary Oldman and of course the late Heath Ledger. The general Synopsis being when Batman (Christian Bale), Commissioner Gordon (Gary Oldman) and Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) join hands to raise the stakes on war on crime. In doing so they find themselves in the midst of chaos created in Gotham city by a mad, menacing and a criminal mastermind with no rules whatsoever, The Joker (Late Heath Ledger). There are twists, turns and snappy dialogues like WHY SO SERIOUS??? (my personal favorite). Christopher Nolan has made a smart action packed movie. Although a little too long, i can guarantee you that the sequences will keep you rivetted to your seats. Man, didn’t TWO FACE look WICKED!!!!!!!

The Dark Knight – Wow!!!! what do u want me to say? Go have a watch ppl…
